Burlington — Republican U.S. Senate Candidate John MacGovern has announced his first news conference to be held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the storefront at the top of Church Street (at Pearl Strett) in Burlington to discuss the national debt and the state of the economy. MacGovern is running against U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I). To date, MacGovern has been nearly invisible in the 2012 campaign for the U.S> Senate in Vermont.
